Date: December 2023I decided to interview my mother because she left her home country (China) and went to Italy to find work twenty-five years ago. During these years, there have been several changes also for her hometown, Qingtian, which is one of the places in China with the greatest Italian influence, mainly due to the large number of local Chinese immigrants in Italy.
My curiosity was especially about discovering her feelings once she returned to her old house, and what she thought about the presence of European architecture (in particular the “wanghong qiao 网红桥,” the famous bridge on the internet) in the country where she grew up.
The “wanghong qiao 网红桥,” the famous bridge on the internet, was inaugurated in 2018 in Qingtian and quickly became known for its scenic European-style design and sparkling lights, making it especially popular for photos intended to be shared on social media.
